·        The Three Treasures School believes in using the best aspects of the modern approach to training, development, assessment and accreditation.  These include:

·        Student centred learning - taking into account the needs of individual learners

·        Transparency of learning objectives so that students have a very clear idea what is expected of them

·        Assessment as a continuous process rather than relying entirely on highly stressful and inaccurate end of course examinations

·        Using or adapting appropriate national standards of competence where they exist, including performance criteria and underpinning knowledge

·        Working towards the development of standards of competence in TCM where no relevant standards can be found

·        The use of lively teaching methodologies rather than overburdening students with large amounts of badly presented theory

·        Use of distance learning techniques where they are appropriate in quality and content

·        Assuring competence through the observation of the student in practical working situations

·        Using computer based learning and support for students where applicable

·        In all a lively, active and effective approach to the development of competence in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

2.    Career Progression

We are able to structure the programmes in a new, creative and practical format which facilitates easy progression for those who want to become competent in more than one of the Traditional Chinese therapies.

.Courses and qualifications are being developed at three levels:

  •    Certificate
  •  Diploma
  • Advanced Diploma

The gateways to a range of full professional qualifications are the Certificates and Diplomas

In practical terms our approach means:

·        By starting off with a Certificate in Tui-Na, for example, you will able to begin practicing - gaining experience in bodywork, running a practice (and earning an income) while you are studying on the higher level courses

·        Each level of course will include an associated level of core modules in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

·        As other courses come on stream (in Medical Qi Gong (Chi Gung) for example) the core TCM studies that you have undertaken in previous courses will provide the basis for further study.

·        The Advanced Diploma in TCM will be awarded to those who have become competent to Diploma level in two or more therapies  within Traditional Chinese Medicine and who undertake further development as practitioners, trainers or researchers.
